DIY SG 1099 & Volt 10 Build

The DIYSG 1099 is a cult‑favorite LCR bruiser built for people who want cinema‑level output. Its name comes from its design: custom Eminence dual 10-inch woofers (“10/99” for 10" + 99 dB sensitivity) paired with Celestion midranges and a high‑efficiency compression tweeter, all engineered to hit ~99 dB sensitivity and survive reference‑level playback with ease. It’s gained a “legendary / elusive” status in the DIY world because parts were hard to keep in stock. The 1099 delivers rock‑solid dynamics, huge output, and that big‑theater “effortless” sound.

The Volt‑10 is a compact, high‑output coaxial speaker built for surround or Atmos duty—but powerful enough to hang with much larger home‑theater mains. DIYSG worked with Eminence to design a custom 10-inch coaxial woofer with a lightweight cone for smooth mids, plus a Celestion compression driver firing through the center waveguide for true point‑source performance. Thanks to high sensitivity and impressive power handling, the Volt‑10 keeps up with big front‑stage monsters like the HTM or 1099 series.
