Cat5 speaker cables
Removed twisted pairs from CAT5 cables until I had 54 pairs.
I started the most time-consuming part by working with three twisted pairs at a time. I secured one end of the three pairs under tension—using whatever worked to hold them firmly in place—and braided them together along their entire length. In the end, I had 18 braided lengths, each made up of three twisted pairs (six wires).
Next, I took three of those braided lengths and braided them together. After repeating this step, I ended up with six larger braided lengths, each containing nine twisted pairs (18 wires).
For the final stage, I braided three of those six lengths together, and then braided the remaining three together. This resulted in two finished cables, each made up of 27 twisted pairs (54 wires).
One of these cables was used for the right speaker channel, and the other for the left speaker channel.
